Reported Problems calling UK Personal
Numbers from outside the UK
For reasons, outside of YAC's control, it has recently come to our
attention that some non-UK operators have blocked access to all 070 UK
Personal Numbers. Therefore, callers trying to call +44 70xxx numbers from
outside of the UK may experience difficulties in connecting to Personal
Numbers. This includes YAC Numbers.
Also, when international callers dial +44 70xxx personal numbers and the
call is carried via the Cable and Wireless (C&W) Network, the caller will
experience difficulties in connecting to the 070 Number. Personal
numbering service providers such as YAC are dependant on Cable and
Wireless to deliver incoming international calls to UK Personal Numbers.
We regret that we cannot see a resolution on this issue unless Cable and
Wireless change their policy on this matter.

When dialling
an 070 number from OUTSIDE the UK some lesser quality Networks may not
connect your call, this is not a problem associated to the Number, it is a
problem created by the Network Provider. If your Network provider does not
allow calls to UK based 070 numbers, complain to them.. we are unable to
complain on your behalf. The more complaints they receive about blocking
access to these numbers the more likely they are to change their policy.
DO NOT accept the excuse that 070 numbers are PREMIUM RATE NUMBERS - They
most definitely are not. Premium rate numbers in the UK start 09.

Number™ from within the UK?
The cost of calling a YAC Number from within the UK varies
according to the type of phone used and the telephone company that places
the call. See details of costs below:
From a landline phone
People calling a YAC Number from a standard BT home or business phone are
charged at the BT rate of 37.5 pence per minute (ppm) at peak times, 25ppm
evenings and 12.5 ppm weekends.* This is the standard 'K' telecoms rate
set by BT for personal numbering services.
Where the callers use an alternative operator to make the call to a YAC
Number the call will be charged at that operator's rate for calls to
personal numbering services.
* Per second billing applies to calls to a YAC Number where it is
supported by the operator that places the call.
From a mobile phone
The cost of calling a YAC Number from a mobile phone depends on the
rates of your mobile phone company. In most cases, it is comparable to
calling another mobile phone outside of your own network. Contact your
mobile phone company to find out the exact price of calling a YAC
Number (YAC Numbers are those with the prefix 07092). Mobile
operators are obliged to make their call charges readily available to
their customers.
